学校概况

 英国上市官网365成立于2009年6月，由原英国365上市公司政治学与行政管理学院分解和更名而来。现为湖南省重点英国上市官网365，拥有马克思主义理论一级学科博士学位授权点及博士后科研流动站。在全国第四轮学科评估中，被评为A-类学科，并入选湖南省“双一流”建设计划国内一流学科。思想政治教育本科专业入选2019年首批国家一流本科专业建设点。

学院承担全校思想政治理论课教学、马克思主义理论学科建设、思想政治教育本科生及马克思主义理论硕士、博士研究生人才培养任务。学院着力打造马克思主义理论教育教学、研究阐释、理论宣传和人才培养的坚强阵地，为全面建设社会主义现代化国家、实现中华民族伟大复兴的中国梦提供坚实学理支撑和人才支持，以“担马列大道、育时代英才”为院训，着力培养让党放心、爱国奉献、担当民族复兴大任的时代新人。

学院设有思想政治教育系、习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想概论教研中心、马克思主义基本原理教研中心、毛泽东思想和中国特色社会主义理论体系概论教研中心、思想道德与法治教研中心、中国近现代史纲要教研中心、形势与政策教研中心、研究生思政课教研中心、国家安全与军事理论教研中心、心理健康教研中心。在学院挂靠的有教育部高校思想政治工作培训基地、教育部国防教育理论与实践研究基地、湖南省当代中国马克思主义研究中心英国365上市公司基地、湖南省网络德育研究基地、江西省民营经济研究中心英国365上市公司基地等研究机构。

学院学科建设起步较早，于1977年开办政治理论师资班（本科）；1984年设置“思想政治教育”本科专业（教育部•全国首批）；1997年获得“马克思主义理论与思想政治教育”硕士学位授予权（湖南省首批）；2005年获得“马克思主义基本原理”、“思想政治教育”两个二级学科博士点（教育部•全国首批）。2007年，由教育部批准设立国家级思想政治教育（辅导员）培训基地；2008年，“思想政治教育”专业被评为湖南省普通高校本科特色专业；2009年，获批“马克思主义理论”一级学科博士后流动站；2010年，获得“马克思主义理论”一级学科博士点。

学院开展理论研究与宣传阐释的经验举措,曾先后被中宣部、教育部、团中央、湖南省委发文予以推介，多次被中央电视台、新华社电讯、人民日报、光明日报、中国教育报等报道，有关中央领导先后在新华社内参和《教育部简报》作出批示。近5年来，学院获批国家级社科基金项目31项（含重大项目2项，重点项目1项），教育部人文社科基金和其他省部级项目120余项，进校科研经费超1000万元，获得湖南省社会科学奖、湖南省教育科学研究优秀成果奖共3项，获得教育部高校“礼敬中华”优秀传统文化“铸魂润心”文化育人创新工作案例1个。

近年来，学院建成国家级精品在线开放课程1门，国家一流本科课程（线上线下混合式）1门，湖南省精品在线开放课程、湖南省一流本科课程、湖南省思政金课等共计10余门。学院教师获得全国教师教学创新大赛一等奖1人，教育部思想政治理论课教学展示活动特等奖1人，湖南省名师示范课堂5人次，湖南省各类教学竞赛一等奖20余人次。

学院将秉持“马院姓马 在马言马”使命，为教育强国建设贡献力量。

     A Brief Introduction to the School of Marxism

The School of Marxism at Central South University (CSU) was established in June 2009 by restructuring and renaming the former School of Political Science and Public Administration of CSU. It is now a key School of Marxism in Hunan Province, with authorization to confer the doctoral degree in the first-level discipline of Marxist Theory and a postdoctoral research station. In the Fourth Round of China’s Discipline Evaluation, its discipline was rated A- and selected as one of the National First-Class Disciplines in Hunan “Double First-Class Initiative”. Its undergraduate program in Ideological and Political Education was designated in 2019 among the first batch of National First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction Programs.

The School is responsible for the teaching of ideological and political theory courses of the whole university, the development of the discipline Marxist Theory, and the cultivation of undergraduate students majoring in Ideological and Political Education, as well as master’s and doctoral students in Marxist Theory. The School spares no effort to build itself into a strong base for the teaching, research interpretation, theoretical dissemination, and talent cultivation of Marxist theoretical education, and to provide solid academic support and talent backup for comprehensively building China into a modern socialist country and realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the nation. Guided by its motto of “Upholding the great path of Marxism-Leninism and cultivating outstanding talents for the new era,” the School strives to foster new-era talents who are worthy of the Party’s trust, patriotic, devoted to the country, and ready to shoulder the responsibility of national rejuvenation.

The School comprises 1 department and 9 teaching and research centers: the Department of Ideological and Political Education, the Teaching and Research Center for Introduction to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era, the Teaching and Research Center for Basic Principles of Marxism, the Teaching and Research Center for Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, the Teaching and Research Center for Ideological Morality and the Rule of Law, the Teaching and Research Center for the Outline of Modern and Contemporary Chinese History, the Teaching and Research Center for Situation and Policy, the Teaching and Research Center for Graduate Ideological and Political Courses, the Teaching and Research Center for National Security and Military Theory, and the Teaching and Research Center for Mental Health. Research institutions affiliated to the School include MOE (the Ministry of Education) Training Base for Ideological and Political Work in Higher Education Institutions, MOE Research Base for the Theory and Practice of National Defense Education, CSU Base of the Hunan Provincial Research Center for Contemporary Chinese Marxism, the Hunan Provincial Research Base for Online Moral Education, and CSU Base of the Jiangxi Provincial Research Center for the Private Economy.

Currently, the School of Marxism is home to 196 faculty and staff members, among whom are 184 full-time teachers, 39 professors and holders of equivalent professional titles, and 50 associate professors and holders of equivalent professional titles. Among its faculty, there are 2 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, 3 recipients of the Bao-gang Outstanding Teacher Award, 1 of National High-level Talents, 1 member of MOE Teaching Guidance Committee for Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Higher Education Institutions, 1 of National Annual Influential Pace-setters and 1 of National Annual Influential Figures of Ideological and Political Course Teachers in Chinese Higher Education, 1 selected into MOE Programs for Outstanding Young and Middle-Aged Talents in Ideological and Political Education, 3 selected into the National Funding Programs for Outstanding Young and Middle-Aged Teachers of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Higher Education Institutions, 1 of National Model Teams and 1 of Outstanding Individuals of the “Duxing Plan” for Rural Revitalization by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China. Besides, the School also boasts 1 of Academic Leading Talents of Hunan Furong Program in Higher Education, 2 young talents of Hunan Furong Program in Humanities and Social Sciences, 1 of High-end Think-tank Talents of Hunan, 2 recipients of the Furong Scholar Award Program for Outstanding Ideological and Political Workers in Higher Education, and 3 of Young and Middle-aged Backbone Talents in Marxist Theory in Hunan. Moreover, the School hosts 1 member of the Hunan Provincial Teaching Guidance Committee for Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Higher Education Institutions, 1 of “Furong Teaching Masters” in Hunan, 1 Hunan Provincial Master Teacher Studio, 2 of Outstanding Teachers in Hunan, 1 of “Most Beautiful Ideological and Political Theory Course Teachers” in Hunan, 1 of Annual Influential Figures of Ideological and Political Theory Course Teachers in Hunan, and 1 of Outstanding Graduate Supervisors in Hunan. In addition, the School holds 1 member of the Hunan Provincial Teaching Guidance Committee for Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Higher Education Institutions, 1 member of the Hunan Provincial Expert Guidance Committee for the Integrated Development of Ideological and Political Courses from Primary and Secondary Schools to Universities, 1 member of the Hunan Provincial Teaching Guidance Committee for National Defense Education in Schools, 1 member of the Hunan Provincial Expert Guidance Committee for Mental Health Education of College Students, 2 individuals selected as Outstanding Party Affairs Workers of Hunan Province, and 2 individuals as Youth Faculty Party Member Demonstration Posts.

The School initiated its disciplinary development quite early, launching in 1977 an undergraduate class for training teachers of political theory, and in 1984 the undergraduate program in Ideological and Political Education as one of the first such national programs approved by MOE. In 1997, the School was authorized to confer the master degree in “Marxist Theory and Ideological and Political Education”, one of the first kind in Hunan Province. In 2005, doctoral programs were granted in such two second-level disciplines as “Basic Principles of Marxism” and “Ideological and Political Education”, also among the first batch nationwide approved by MOE. In 2007, with MOE’s approval, the National Training Base for Ideological and Political Education for Counselors was set up. In 2008, the major of the Ideological and Political Education was recognized as a featured undergraduate major in Hunan Ordinary Higher Education Institutions. In 2009, the School was approved to establish a first-level postdoctoral research station in Marxist Theory. In 2010, it was authorized to confer the doctoral degree in the first-level discipline of Marxist Theory.

The School’s experiences and measures in theoretical research and publicity interpretation have been recommended in official documents issued by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, MOE, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, and the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and have also been reported many times by CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, China Education Daily, and other major media outlets. Some related leaders of the Central Government have issued instructions in internal reference materials of Xinhua News Agency and in MOE briefing. Over the past five years, the School has acquired 31 projects sponsored by the National Social Science Fund of China, including 2 major projects and 1 key project, as well as more than 120 projects sponsored by MOE Humanities and Social Science Fund and other provincial-level and ministerial-level projects. Its research funding admitted into the university has exceeded 10 million RMB. Moreover, the School has won 3 awards of the Hunan Provincial Social Sciences Award and the Hunan Provincial Award for Outstanding Achievements in Educational Science Research, and 1 of Exemplary Cases in MOE Higher Education Institutions for “Respecting Chinese Extraordinary Traditional Culture, and Soul-Casting and Heart-Nourishing Cultural Education Innovation.”

In recent years, the School has developed 1 National Quality Online Open Course, 1 National First-Class Undergraduate Course of Online-offline Blended Teaching Mode, and more than 10 courses recognized as Hunan Provincial Quality Online Open Courses, Hunan Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Courses, and Hunan Provincial “Golden Courses” in Ideological and Political Education. The faculty of the School have won 1 first prize in the National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers, 1 special prize in MOE Teaching Demonstration Activity for Ideological and Political Theory Courses, 5 persons/ times of Hunan Provincial Master-teacher Demonstration Classes, and more than 20 first prizes in various teaching competitions in Hunan Province.

The School will continue to uphold its mission that “the School of Marxism must adhere to Marxism and speak for Marxism,” and make greater contributions to building China into a powerful country in education.
